Web Stalkers
Chapter 3 -
Web Weirdos
The Pseudo Stalker
He won't be back, Jean. The modest abuse you
saw him receive publicly here yesterday is nothing compared to the
threats and abuse he has received privately. Nothing.
Com'on Howie, fess up, you're a punk. Punks
like you usually get the crap kicked out of them. Stand up and be a
man Howie, don't hide like a little fairy.
Tell me you are sorry, and ask me to forgive
you! I just might do it! I might let you off the hook! Then again I
might not! One never knows till one tries!!!!
Not all of the difficult people that seem to be
in such abundance on the internet will be as nasty as those
discussed thus far. As is the case with all societies, the
cyber-society that has evolved around us has its share of those who
do not know how to behave appropriately. The severity of their
transgressions will run the gamut from mild to malicious.
On the mild side, there exists the type of
person that likes to post inflammatory statements to an e-mail list
or a blog, and then sit back and watch the sparks fly. Others want
to be confrontational and start fights with members of a group,
while complaining to the moderator and anyone else who will listen
about how poorly they are treated. It only takes one or two
troublemakers to ruin a great group and send the quality members
packing, looking for a more enlightened arena in which to engage in
discussions.
