selection of support-related technologies is important but it is the
effective implementation and administration of those technologies

information on improving the quality of database support activities.
Because DBA responsibilities are dynamic and varied in nature, daily
administrative tasks are sometimes given less priority than they
deserve. Although some of the tips may seem obvious, the overall
theme of this section is to reduce the time spent on daily
administrative activities and increase the quality of day-to-day
