Oracle Disk I/O Tuning
Chapter 5: Conclusion
So far, we have covered various options
available for setting up the shared storage required for building
the Oracle RAC Solutions. There are four basic choices for the
shared storage: raw partitions, cluster file system, NFS facility
and the ASM. There is quite a lot of variation in availability of
these technologies. In other words, some platforms have specific
requirements. We have also examined the storage redundancy issues
and other relevant technologies.
Having covered the
necessary shared storage preparation in this chapter, in the next
chapter, we will devote to the preparation of cluster environment
and creating the RAC database.
